case: souqi
Souqi wanted to launch a modern, trustworthy marketplace that makes buying and selling feel simple and secure. The core challenge was designing a dynamic trading environment that feels fast, communicates clearly, and avoids unnecessary digital clutter.
At the same time, the platform needed to be scalable from day one, with a solid structure capable of handling thousands of listings, users, and transactions. The goal was a clean, accessible experience that works equally well for both buyers and sellers.
Challenge
Approach
We focused on simplicity, clarity, and performance. Using Next.js, TypeScript, and a modular design system, we created an interface that loads quickly and stays easy to navigate, no matter how large the platform grows.
Visually, the platform is intentionally calm and organized, with clear categories, consistent typography, and strong calls to action guiding users through each step. To support onboarding and reduce friction, we added an AI Chat Assistant that answers real time questions about listings, payments, and account settings. It supports multiple languages and automatically forwards complex queries to human support.
Key features include buyer seller chat, secure forms, user profiles, and a seller dashboard that brings listings, bids, and conversations into one clean workspace. We also added subtle monetization features such as boost packages for listings, integrated through CMI, Morocco’s primary payment provider.
The name Souqi references the traditional souq, a place where people meet, trade, and exchange value. It reflects a sense of movement, community, and connection.
The logo is inspired by the iconic Moroccan archways found in historic markets and medinas.
Designed as a stylized entrance, it represents access, discovery, and the welcome to step inside a familiar local space. It ties the digital marketplace back to the physical souqs that have shaped trade and community for generations.
Solution
The result is a digital environment built around clarity, safety, and ease of use. Navigation is intuitive, the structure is logical, and all information is grouped in a way that helps users find what they need quickly.
We implemented a powerful search and filter system, dynamic product pages, and server side rendering to optimize both speed and SEO performance. The platform runs on Vercel and is powered by a Firebase backend, handling user data, listings, chats, and transactions with strong security standards.
The AI Chat Assistant boosts user support by offering instant guidance and reducing the workload for human agents. Additional features include bid notifications, a fully integrated payment system, and a seller dashboard with insights into reach and performance.
For payments, we integrated CMI. Unlike plug and play solutions such as Mollie, CMI requires a custom technical setup, but it ensures a reliable and locally trusted payment experience for Moroccan users.
Together, these elements create a marketplace that lowers barriers, speeds up interactions, and gives users a strong sense of trust, control, and comfort.
